Chuck has that cute, puffy-faced, post-operative look about him. He's a bit swollen, but this will subside. He's in a bit of pain, as he no longer has the morphine drip. This is his first post-operative time without the drip, so he's more uncomfortable than ususal.
Radiology has begun the intestinal x-ray series. They injected dye into his j-tube, and have been x-raying his gut every hour. This should provide the much needed answer to the question, "Why can't he tolerate food?" Hopefully we'll know soon.
A representative from Baylor Specialty Hospital came to assess Chuck. She agrees with me, that he is quite handsome. Aside from that, she thinks he'll be moved on Monday. She also believes he will be ready for rehab after no more than three weeks in their facility. They have an EXCELLENT wound care program, not to mention their ventilator program. Whew ... home stretch??
This will be his new address: Baylor Specialty Hospital of Dallas; 3504 Swill Avenue; Dallas, TX 75204. The number is (214) 820-9790 or 1-888-7BAYLOR.
